St. Louis Bound

         Yesterday Seriously Rocked!
People coming together to make good things happen is what's up!

Today I sit here basking in the afterglow of a great day.  A day that filled my heart with love and hope in more ways than one.  We came together and made some good things happen yesterday.  I earned my way to St. Louis for a ViSalus National event that I really wanted to go to so that I can learn more about how to help others with this new lifestyle change that the 90 Day Challenge has given me, helped me to walk again, live fully again and each day just keeps getting better.

Rory, thank you so much for all your help over the past few days, I love you!

I overslept, haha!  Go figure, every other day I am up at 4am and on the day I set my alarm I can't wake up.  Well, I had trouble for the first time in a long time with going to sleep.  The excitement was overwhelming and my mind was awake with anticipation for earning my way to St. Louis.  My phone rang bright and early, it was Rory checking to see if I was on schedule, they boys were up before me and ready to get er done.  Haha.  That is ironic because I thought it would be the other way around, me draggin them out of bed.  Nope, they were up and ready before Kamala and I.

Rep'n One Love

We headed down to the flea market after some shakes and laughs at my Sisters house.  It was crazy ya'll, before we were even fully set up our booth was swarmed with people digging through the great stuff donated by my friends who wanted to help me earn my air fare for the trip.  I had this plan of setting things up all organized like, well that didn't go down, haha.  There was too many people digging through everything and making offers to keep it all neat and orderly; I let go of the my idea of setting up from jump.

Jordan, Sean and Rory bartering with me about my artwork, haha.  I was trying to
just give it to Rory for helping me, they wouldn't hear that and kept bartering.
You guys are the best.  Your believing in me, this journey and our team is so
powerful for me.  Thank you so much for your energy and love!
By 9am I had already made half of my air fare.  My Sister was on the phone with me cheering me on in amazement of how well it was going.  Even the boys got in on the fun and bought One Love bracelets for a donation as well as Rory insisting on buying my artwork for a nice donation.  He didn't want me to sell my art work and said we were keeping it in the family, haha.  We stayed till about 2:30, made my air fare and enough for me to pay for another day next weekend as I still have stuff left to sell and my friend Jim came by late in the game to donate a bunch of tools which will certainly make my room and food money for the trip to St. Louis.  I wanted to go out again today but I am exhausted, next weekend will be just fine.

I loved this guys hat, he was awesome too!
Aside from the joy of earning my ticket I got to meet so many people, I just love people.  Santa Cruz is a great place full of awesome people.  The Flea Market has been going on in Santa Cruz as long as I can remember.  It was a trip sitting there, I remembered all the weekends my Mom used to set up a booth there with me and my little sister, all the weekends we went to shop there.  I remembered the last time I was there over 27 years ago when I was pregnant with my oldest son Semaj; I was there at night for a drive in movie.

By the time we got back to my sisters house we were all exhausted, however, we were so excited about earning the price of my air fare to St. Louis that we hung out laughing and celebrating for a couple of hours.  I cannot express how much I appreciate all that everyone had done to make this dream come true.  It felt great to be able to work for it, help me help myself to reach this dream.  That is what dreams are all about; working towards achieving them.  If we believe in our dreams, imagine them coming true the Universe makes a way for that to happen as long as we are active in making it happen.

I remember a time when I just wished things would change, I wasn't really believing in my own ability to reach my dreams at all.  I was just wishing things would change with no real belief they could.  Today I am a new me, I have a new attitude.  Today I believe in me and I believe that all my dreams will come true!

An Awesome Family who let me take their picture for the blog.
Great meeting you all! One Love!
I met so many cool people yesterday, got to share my story; hear theirs.  So much more happened than earning enough for my ticket.  We all shared so much happiness yesterday.  We tasted new fruits from the produce stands as the boys went out in the stands and came back with fruits I have never even seen.  One was huge, bigger than a watermelon with pokey things all over it, haha.  It was tasted really good and was a lot of fun cutting open and digging out the edible parts.

I am going to St. Louis ya'll, Woot Woot! That seriously Rocks!

St. Louis Here I Come!

I love you all from a place of feeling the love and feeling the realization of a dream come true.

Have a great Sunday!

  2. Kathy,
I love you girl. We have 30 plus years of history, we were kids then, we didn't even know what life was about. I appreciate your apology, I forgave you years ago and haven't thought of it since. I think you are an amazing woman who has lived your own set of hurdles in life that are very similar to my own. We both have much to celebrate today and one thing we are both blessed to celebrate is our friendship. I am grateful for having you in my life today. Your love and encouragement means the world to me. I love you to mamma! Always!
